Comparative Immunologist and Professor of Biology Illustrates the Science Behind Coronavirus Spread

To help his friends and family, Associate Professor Erin Bromage started a blog to explain the science behind the spread of Covid-19.

His latest post, “The Risks – Know Them – Avoid Them,” has gained massive attention in little over a week.  According to UMass of Dartmouth, Dr. Bromage’s (May 6th) post has been viewed over 13 million times.  He has since spoken with CNN, MSNBC, and The New York Times.

While Dr. Bromage has a background in immunology and infectious disease in animals, he asserts that he is not an expert on COVID-19.  He says he enjoys translating the data of the scientists “into prose that non-scientist lay people can more readily understand as we navigate through this pandemic.”
