Homelessness is on the rise in Montreal, Canada. According to Global News, a survey shows homelessness has increased in Quebec by 12% since 2015. In Montreal specifically, the number has risen from 3,016 to 3,149.

CKUT is responding tonight by holding a live marathon on homelessness. The college radio station will speak with those who do not have shelter from hot and cold. They will speak to people who live with the reality of poverty.

CKUT hopes to raise awareness of the problem by reaching out to everyday people as well as community leaders. You can tune in right now. The marathon will last from 5 pm to 10 pm EST.
