Pacifica Launches the Pacifica AudioPort at AudioPort.org, offering online distribution of Pacifica programming.

AudioPort logoThe Pacifica Network was founded in 1949 by pacifist Lew Hill and pioneered listener-sponsored independent radio. Today, the network consists of five stations owned by the Pacifica Foundation, one associate station, and 84 affiliates.

There are three main uses for the AudioPort: locating programming, adding programming, and a personal workroom.

AudioPort.org - Find programming

Finding Programming

There are several ways to find programming, by type, by topic, by length (ie. less than 5 minutes), by producer, or by series (ie. Counterspin)

You can also access certain program specific programming, without an active AudioPort account, by visiting the 'Public Files' link in the navigation bar.

Adding Programming

In order to add your program, you must have an active AudioPort account. You can add your programming if you are not from an affiliate station, all you will need is the independent producer main password (contact us for this).

You can upload several different formats: mp3, FLAC, ogg, mp2, ra, and ram

Personal Workroom

In addition, you can upload programming and mark it as private (this is done in the funal step of the Add Program phase), so that only you can access it. You can however, grant someone else access to this (and your other) files, by granting them access to your workroom. You can then remove their access - all by yourself, in real time.
