PROGRAMS DISTRIBUTED BY PACIFICA KU SATELLITE

High quality daily and weekly programs such as Democracy Now, Free Speech Radio News and Flashpoints, as well as many independent programs such as Alternative Radio and Counter Spin. PACIFICA SPECIALS

Pacifica Radio provides un-embedded and comprehensive special coverage of national and international events such as wars, congressional hearings, demonstrations, presidential debates and conventions, coup-des-tas, and other breaking news. We also bring live concerts, lectures, and other cultural events. We bring you there, live. Pacifica collaborates with affiliated stations, drawing on local expertise and providing local producers opportunities to work nationally. Specials are distributed live via satellite, streaming, and recordings of the programs are usually quickly uploaded into AudioPort as well.

 

PROGRAMS DISTRIBUTED BY INTERNET - PACIFICA AUDIOPORT

Receiving: Our Internet distribution system allows you to obtain regular Pacifica programs when it is convenient for you, in the form of broadcast quality sound files. The AudioPort web site also provides an extensive and ever-growing collection of exciting new programs and raw sound (actualities from events, interviews, etc), uploaded by producers from Pacifica stations and Pacifica affiliate, as well as many independent producers.

Distributing: AudioPort distributes programs from your station nationally or internationally. You can self-upload your programs.

Streaming: AudioPort streams broadcast quality programs and live specials to any stations upon request.

Podcasting: AudioPort enables stations to receive programs via podcast.

Production online: AudioPort also provides you with workspace on the Internet for storing sound on line for flexibility during production and collaboration with producers at other locations.

HEADLINE NEWS SERVICE

Pacifica has a headline news service that provides 5-minute headline news at noon EST, 1:00PM EST, 2:00PM EST, and 3PM EST. This service originates from the Pacifica Washington Bureau at WPFW-Pacifica and is anchored by Verna Avery Brown. It will be expanded to be a more comprehensive headline news service (including printed wire service) in the coming year.

 

PROGRAMS FROM THE PACIFICA RADIO ARCHIVES

Any historical program archived in the Pacifica Radio Archives, one of the world's oldest and most important radio archives. Archives include sound files covering pivotal 20th century events and historic figures ranging from Fannie Lou Hamer and Dylan Thomas to Franklin D. Roosevelt and Malcolm X. Programs can be received within minutes via the Pacifica AudioPort or can be received as CD's in the mail).
