KVMR FM is a community-licensee based in Nevada City, California. In operation
since 1978, KVMR's primary signal at 89.5 FM serves the northern Sierra Nevada
Foothills and much of the Sacramento Valley, including metropolitan Sacramento;
a new translator serves the High Sierra communities of Truckee and Lake Tahoe.
The station employs a volunteer air staff of over 150 citizen broadcasters.
Since it's inception, KVMR has offered a widely eclectic programming schedule,
95% of which is locally produced. KVMR hosts it's own news department and produces
a daily Evening News hour and morning news summary, supplemented by Free Speech
Radio News. Among the very few syndicated programs offered on KVMR is Pacifica's
Democracy Now! |
